AgencyZoom Pricing in 2026: What It Really Costs (and the Cheaper Ways to Get the Same Automation)

AgencyZoom hides its price behind a demo. Here are the real 2026 numbers: the $149, $199, and $349 independent plans, the 7-user seat cap, Allstate pricing, the Vertafore contract and onboarding costs nobody quotes you, and the cheaper ways to run the same sales and retention automation.

You booked the AgencyZoom demo because a producer friend swears by it, and the rep was friendly, sharp, and never once said a number. You got a slick walkthrough of pipelines and renewal boards, then a follow-up email with a calendar link instead of a price. Now there is a quote in your inbox bigger than the demo made it sound, and you still cannot tell whether it is a fair deal for a five-person shop.

Here is the answer up front. AgencyZoom, owned by Vertafore, does publish prices even though the sales motion hides them: the independent-agency plans run $149, $199, and $349 a month, each covering up to seven users, with a 14-day free trial and 20% off annual billing (AgencyZoom plan types). Allstate-captive agencies get separate plans at $99 and $129 a month. That is the sticker. The real cost is what the quote leaves out: the unpublished eighth seat, the onboarding ramp, the Vertafore contract, and the three or four other tools you still pay for because AgencyZoom is a layer, not an all-in-one. This post is the whole bill, plus the cheaper ways to get the same sales-and-retention automation.

What AgencyZoom actually is (and what it is not)

AgencyZoom is a sales, onboarding, and retention CRM for property-and-casualty agencies, now owned by Vertafore. It sits on top of the agency management system you already run. Your AMS is the system of record, holding the policies, dec pages, and carrier downloads. AgencyZoom is the hustle layer on top: lead pipelines, producer goals, onboarding checklists, and renewal boards. It rates 4.6 of 5 across 200-plus reviews on G2.

That distinction is the key to the price. You are not buying a replacement for EZLynx or HawkSoft, you are buying an extra bill that makes producers follow up and renewals go out on time.

Retention is where small agencies quietly bleed. The average independent agency sits around 84% client retention, and only 18% of agencies improved theirs by five points or more last year (Liberty Mutual and Safeco 2026 study). Independent agents still place 61.5% of all U.S. property-and-casualty premium (Big “I” 2025 Market Share Report), so the book is there. The leak is follow-up, which is what tools like this automate.

The real 2026 pricing, plan by plan

AgencyZoom’s own plan page lists these independent-agency plans for 2026, each with a 14-day trial and 20% off annual billing:

Plan Monthly price Annual (20% off) Users included Who it is for
Essential $149 about $119/mo Up to 7 Solo or 2-3 person shop getting organized
Growth $199 about $159/mo Up to 7 A producing team that wants goals and renewal automation
Pro $349 about $279/mo Up to 7 Multi-producer agency on the full retention and reporting stack

Allstate-captive agencies have their own line: Single Location at $99 and Multiple Location at $129 a month. Third-party aggregators muddy the water, quoting everything from $79 to $143.10, so trust the vendor’s own page and confirm it live before you sign.

Published or reported entry monthly price for each tool. AgencyZoom and NowCerts figures from vendor pages; EZLynx and HawkSoft report ranges; GoHighLevel is an all-in-one platform (our system is built on it) rather than a point CRM. Sources: AgencyZoom and Software Advice.

At $149 to $349, AgencyZoom sits in the middle of the market. The question is never “is $199 a lot of money,” it is “what else am I paying for to make $199 actually work,” and that is where the quote goes quiet.

The costs the quote never shows you

The eighth seat. Every independent plan caps at seven users, and the moment you hire your eighth person you are back on a sales call because the price for additional seats is not published. That is a growth ceiling you cannot see from the demo, and by then your whole pipeline lives inside the tool, so you have no room to negotiate. Ask for the per-seat number in writing, because “we’ll work with you” is not a price.

Onboarding and the ramp. The monthly fee is not the real first-year cost. That is the two to six weeks your team spends importing data, building pipelines, and learning the boards. No software bills you for it, but it sinks most rollouts.

The Vertafore contract. AgencyZoom is enterprise software now. Read the term length, the auto-renewal clause, and the data-export terms before you sign, and ask one blunt question: if I cancel, do I get my contact and pipeline data out in a usable format, and is there a fee? Get the answer in writing.

The tools it does not include. This is the big one. AgencyZoom runs your sales and retention logic, but it is not your texting platform, funnel builder, call tracking, or AI receptionist, and you pay for those separately. So the honest comparison is not “$199 AgencyZoom vs $297 something else,” it is “$199 AgencyZoom plus a texting tool plus a review tool plus a funnel builder” versus one bill.

Infographic titled The Costs the Quote Never Shows with four panels: the 8th seat (price not published, caps at 7 users), onboarding ramp (2 to 6 weeks to go live), the Vertafore contract (term, auto-renewal, export fees), and tools not included (texting, funnels, reviews, AI), noting AgencyZoom is a layer, not an all-in-one.

What you actually get for the money

AgencyZoom earns its fee in four places, each with a way it breaks.

Sales pipelines and producer goals. Leads land in a board, move stage by stage, and producers get a scoreboard that makes follow-up visible. How it breaks: a scoreboard with no follow-up automation behind it just tells you how many quotes you lost. The value is the nudges, not the board.

Onboarding and welcome automation. New clients get welcome touches, document requests, and a review ask, which sets the tone for retention. How it breaks: if the texts are not registered under A2P 10DLC, carriers filter them and your “automated” welcome never arrives. Confirm the texting is compliant, not just scheduled.

Renewal and retention boards. The renewal board flags policies coming due so nothing lapses by accident, and this is the part that pays for the whole tool. For the timing, our 120/60/30/7 renewal cadence playbook lays it out. How it breaks: a renewal reminder that only emails the client does half the job. The ones that hold a book mix a text, an email, and a real call, and most agencies never wire the call.

Reporting. Producer activity, close rates, retention by line. How it breaks: a dashboard nobody opens on Monday is a line item, not a tool.

Notice what is not on that list: your quote funnel, your missed-call text-back, your AI receptionist, your two-way texting. A real insurance quote funnel feeds whatever CRM you pick; AgencyZoom does not build it.

Solo, five-producer, and large: what each should pay

The right answer differs by shop, so run your own math on the three cases.

The solo operator or 2-3 person shop. At $149 Essential, AgencyZoom is probably more CRM than you need if you are still texting from your own phone and have no funnel. A solo agent gets more from one all-in-one platform that does intake, texting, and follow-up together, because the gap at your size is leads and speed-to-lead, not pipeline reporting. Watch out for: paying for seven seats when you use one.

The five-producer agency. AgencyZoom’s sweet spot on paper. Growth at $199 (about $159 annual) covers all five with room to spare, and the renewal board plus producer goals genuinely change behavior at this size. But this is where the “plus the other tools” tax bites hardest, because you still need two-way texting, funnels, and review automation AgencyZoom does not include. Price the whole stack, not the one plan. Watch out for: the eighth hire turning a clean $199 into a quote you cannot negotiate.

The large or multi-location agency. Pro at $349 and its reporting earn their keep when managers actually run off dashboards, and the per-location structure fits. At this scale, negotiate term, seats, and export terms as a real contract, not a click-through. Watch out for: auto-renewal clauses and the cost of getting your data back out.

Across all three the pattern holds: the monthly number is the easy part, the total is the plan plus seats plus onboarding plus the tools it does not replace. Our agency management software cost teardown runs the same math across the AMS platforms.

AgencyZoom vs the alternatives

AgencyZoom is one of several ways to run sales and retention automation. Here is how the real options stack up across the criteria that decide the bill, with published or reported entry rates for a small agency.

Read it this way. For a pure sales-and-retention CRM, AgencyZoom and Better Agency are the direct comparison, and AgencyZoom is the cheaper of the two (Software Advice lists Better Agency from $299). For AMS and CRM in one bill, EZLynx and NowCerts are the comparison. For the CRM plus texting, funnels, reviews, and an AI front desk in one platform, that is the all-in-one route, usually the cheaper total once you add up the point tools AgencyZoom leaves out. For the AMS side, see our best Applied Epic alternatives.

AgencyZoom is not a bad product. It is a point tool with a point-tool price, and the trap is comparing one line on its quote to the full cost of an all-in-one.

The compliance layer the demo skips

Any tool that automates texts, reviews, and referral gifts is also automating your compliance exposure, and the demo will not spend a minute on it. Three rules matter.

TCPA and A2P 10DLC. Every automated text needs prior express consent, a working opt-out on each message, and a registered A2P 10DLC number, or carriers filter your messages into the void. Do not let anyone tell you the FCC “one-to-one consent” rule applies: it was vacated by the Eleventh Circuit on January 24, 2025, and the FCC removed the language later that year, so consent reverts to the prior standard (FCC order 25-73). Our TCPA-safe SMS field guide has the full setup.

Anti-rebating on referral gifts. Tools like this love to automate client-appreciation and referral gifts, but your state caps them. Florida limits gifts to $100 per client per year; Texas caps them at $25. Automate a $50 referral gift to a Texas client and you have automated a violation at scale. Set the gift value by state, and read our compliant gifts and reviews guide first.

NAIC Model 570 on life and annuity ads. If you sell life or annuity, the NAIC model requires testimonials to be genuine, accurate, and unedited, and any paid endorsement must be disclosed as a “Paid Endorsement” (NAIC Model #570). An automated testimonial campaign has to respect that, because the software does not read the rules for you.

Objections

“We already demoed it and the team liked it. Isn’t it worth $199?” It might be. The question is not whether $199 is worth it in isolation, it is what your total monthly stack costs once you add the texting, funnels, and review tools AgencyZoom does not include. Add those up first. If the all-in number still beats a single platform that does the same jobs, it is the right call. If not, you liked the demo, not the deal.

“We’re a five-person shop, so the 7-user cap is fine.” For now. Price the eighth seat before you sign anyway, because the whole point of a retention tool is that you plan to grow, and a growth tool with an invisible ceiling is a problem you want to see first.

“Switching tools is a nightmare. Isn’t it easier to just pay?” Switching cost is real, which is exactly why you check the data-export terms before you enter, not after. The nightmare is being unable to switch because your contacts are trapped behind an export fee. Ask question four above.

“Do I need to be technical to run the alternative?” No. The all-in-one route is set up for you. The real work is deciding your pipeline stages and renewal cadence, which you do in any tool. The wiring, SMS compliance, and templates get installed ready to run.

So, is AgencyZoom worth it?

Go back to that quote in your inbox. AgencyZoom is a capable sales-and-retention CRM at a mid-market price, $149 to $349 a month for up to seven users, with real value in the renewal board and producer goals. It is also a layer, not a system, so the honest price is the plan plus the seats you will grow into plus the texting, funnels, and reviews it does not include. For many small agencies the math lands in the same place: an all-in-one that does the CRM, SMS, funnels, reviews, and AI front desk for one bill costs less than AgencyZoom plus the stack around it. Price the whole thing, ask the seven questions, read the contract, and buy the total, not the sticker.

FAQ

How much does AgencyZoom cost in 2026?

AgencyZoom's independent-agency plans are $149 (Essential), $199 (Growth), and $349 (Pro) per month, each including up to 7 users, with a 14-day free trial and 20% off annual billing. Allstate-captive agencies have separate plans at $99 and $129 per month. The price for an eighth user is not published and requires a quote.

Does AgencyZoom charge per user?

No. It charges a flat agency fee and every independent plan bundles up to 7 users. That is predictable up to 7 people, but there is no published rate for the eighth seat, so a growing agency ends up back on a sales call to expand.

Is AgencyZoom an agency management system?

No. It is a sales, onboarding, and retention CRM that sits on top of your existing agency management system. It does not replace your AMS or rater or store policies as a system of record. You run it alongside EZLynx, HawkSoft, Applied Epic, or whatever AMS you use.

What are the best AgencyZoom alternatives?

The direct CRM-layer comparison is Better Agency, which starts higher at about $299 per month. For AMS-plus-CRM in one bill, look at EZLynx or NowCerts. For the CRM plus two-way SMS, funnels, review automation, and an AI receptionist in one platform, an all-in-one built on GoHighLevel usually costs less than AgencyZoom plus the point tools it leaves out.

Does AgencyZoom include texting and funnels?

The core product is sales and retention CRM. Two-way SMS, funnels, landing pages, call tracking, and an AI receptionist are not part of the base CRM, so you typically pay for those separately. That separate stack is the cost most people forget when comparing it to an all-in-one platform.

Is AgencyZoom owned by Vertafore?

Yes. AgencyZoom is a Vertafore product. Because it is enterprise software, read the contract term, the auto-renewal clause, and the data-export terms before signing, and get the cancellation and export details in writing.
